Homebush West War Memorials

There are two War Memorials located in Melville Reserve, Hampstead Road, Homebush West.

The Melville Reserve Memorial Gates are two sandstone pillars supporting a decorative metal gate. The gates are stand alone and are not attached to either a fence or supporting wall. The plaque states:

‘These gates were erected by the citizens of Flemington in honour of those who enlisted in the Great War 1914-1918’.

The pedestrian concrete bridge, which crosses Saleyards Creek in Melville Reserve, states in the dedication plaque:

‘This bridge was erected by the Citizens of Flemington to the memory of those who fell in the Great War 1914-1918.’
