George Robert Knight (1879-1961) was first elected to Homebush Council in 1906. Knight was a rose and nurseryman. He operated George Knight & Sons on Parramatta Road Homebush.
He served on Homebush Council as an Alderman in the years 1906-1908, 1908-1911, 1911-1914, 1914-1917, 1917-20, 1920-22, 1922-1925, 1934-1937, 1937-1941, 1941-1944, 1944-1947
He was elected Mayor of Homebush in the years of 1917-1919. He also served as Deputy Mayor in 1942.
Knight Street Homebush is named for George Knight.
